"Alexa" read me the news

Amazon released its Q4 earnings report last week. Despite missing revenue estimates, the e-commerce giant still hit $3.78 billion - and much of that was due to products that deliver information for a fee.

For instance, Alexa-enabled devices were the top-selling products across all categories on Amazon.com this holiday season. Customers purchased and gifted a record-setting number of devices from the Amazon Echo family with sales up over 900% compared to last holiday season.

None of that is surprising. Still, it makes a person wonder how long it will be before "Alexa" becomes a prime news source in American households. Particularly with Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos also the owner of the Washington Post owner. How long before we begin to "ask" for the news? And where will that news come from?
