SCOUT HIRES NEW SALES ASSOCIATE

Debbie Dills, started working in the front office of the Cherokee Scout on Nov. 15, 2013, has been named the local newspaper’s newest sales associate.
Dills replaces sales manager Donna Cook, who retired Friday after serving 43 years with the Scout. Cook’s personality and experience will be hard to replace.
“Donna was an absolute joy to work with, personally and professionally, and we will all miss her,” Scout Publisher David Brown said. “But I’m happy to report that Debbie has worked hard to deserve this promotion, and she will do a great job of serving the local business community.”
Dills, who was born and raised in Murphy, has been a fixture in the front office of the Scout, helping customers, taking classified ads, making subscription calls and more. She also spent a few years working in the front office of the Andrews Journal before the two newspapers merged earlier this year.
