Columbus County government’s human resources department says the Sheriff’s Office hasn’t filed paperwork to suspend any deputies after Sheriff Bill Rogers announced his department was investigating officers’ use of force during an arrest Monday night.
The News Reporter e-mailed Amanda Stanley, the county’s human resources specialist, around 8:50 a.m. Friday morning, asking if any deputies had been suspended or terminated within the past week.
Around 3:35 p.m. Friday, Stanley responded to The News Reporter’s e-mail, stating that, “We have not received any personnel action forms in the human resources department from the sheriff's office in regards to terminations or suspensions."
