Rocky Mount Telegram names new editor

Eugene Tinklepaugh, 42, has been tapped to succeed the late Gene Metrick as editor of the Rocky Mount Telegram by newspaper publisher Kyle Stephens.
Stephens noted that Tinklepaugh, who assumed his new position on Sept. 1, is following in the footsteps of Metrick and Jeff Herrin, two editors he worked for and spent years learning from.
“Eugene has been helping us with editing and getting the paper to bed for the last month, and we have been so grateful to have him on board in the interim,” Stephens said.
